About OUR PLANT SHOP

Meet the Owner

My name is John Melicor and I am the owner of Urban Plant Shop. I opened Urban Plant Shop on February 1st, 2019. Why did I decide to open a shop in Bremerton? I opened up shop in Bremerton due to the overwhelmingly supportive community and that I strive to be a part of a community that supports local businesses, LGBTQIA, and its Veterans. I am a Navy Veteran who is also currently attending Cornish College of the Arts for a BFA in Interior Architecture focusing on Environmental and Sustainable Design. I hope to one day change the way we interact with spaces by creating Urban Jungles in our homes, offices, and space we interact with in an everyday basis. One day, I would like to see the world change for the better having clean, green spaces so that our future may be an optimistic one. My experience with plants is rather unconventional but my passion in designing and creating an environmentally sound space that is ultimately sustainable makes up for my unconventional education in Horticulture. I have been a member of the Bremerton/Kitsap Community for many years now supporting local nonprofits in any way possible. I hope to close the gap in what Bremerton needs in the community in any way possible.
